Honey came in through the kitchen window when I was living in Nairobi, Kenya. She wasn’t the first cat in my life, but she was the one who taught me about love. She made me better in so many ways.
Honey was a hit in the business class section of the Lufthansa flight home so many years ago.
Rabbit Hole
I played hide and seek with this jack rabbit on hard scrabbled desert one hot summer afternoon.
Early Morning 8/17
I love the quiet of early mornings. In the summer months, I listen to the trains and remember when I was a kid.
Crane Sketch
This is actually one of my favorites. Originally it was a small sketch on a legal pad. I’ve reworked it many times since then. Actually, it looks more like a stork to me. Guess I misnamed it.
Pakistani Goat
I could never figure out why my colleagues in Pakistan insisted on introducing me to the goat who was to serve as the main course of our celebratory dinners, but they did. I don’t normally eat meat.
I was imagining what the sound of a phoebe flying might look like.
I drew this on the back of an envelope while trying to pay attention during a Willamette Humane Society fundraiser. I get lost in my drawing process.
I know they aren’t for everyone, but I like the abstracts best of all.
